離婚の理由の中にアンバーがジョニーから身体的なDVを受けていたとあった
アンバーの妹・ホイットニーさんは先日、ロンドンでの裁判で姉側の証人として出廷し、
２０１５年にロサンゼルスの家で起きた２人の夫婦ゲンカについて証言。
仲裁しようとした自分を、酒に酔ったデップが階段から突飛ばそうとしたことから、
アンバーは「妹に手をあげるな！」と叫び、夫を叩いたという。
さらに逆上したデップは、アンバーの頭部を殴りつけたと証言していた。
だが、ジェニファーさんによると、ホイットニーさんが自分に明かした話は、
その証言と相反するものだったという。
実際に夫婦ゲンカで暴行していたのはアンバーで、ホイットニーさんが止めに入ると、
姉は怒りに任せて妹を階段から突き落とそうとした。
その際、ホイットニーさんは「いつか姉はジョニーを殺してしまうかもしれない」と不安を感じたという。
ジェニファーさんの証言が報道されると、ホイットニーさんは「完全な作り話」とし
「ジェニファー・ハウエル氏の証言は事実にそぐわないもので、
なぜそんな発言をしたのか分からない」との声明を出した。
どちらかが虚偽の証言をしたのか…。
